In early 2025, Wildcard took over the Apex Genesis roster, but as the year ends, the same team will play Dota 2 under the GamerLegion banner. Even though it has been a difficult year for the players, they have weathered the ups and downs. As they moved from one organization to another, they still managed to reach The International 2025. Unfortunately, their elimination came as the Wildcard road came to an end. But that wasn’t the end of their journey.

Now, the five players and their manager have found a new home, with a newcomer to the professional Dota 2 scene – GamerLegion.

Already known for various other esports titles, including Counter-Strike 2, GamerLegion took the leap to Dota 2. According to their post made via the organization’s X account, it only took one bootcamp session at their facility to recruit the team. The team, which has not changed since the beginning of 2025, has only added a new coach.

Andrei-Vlad “Mangusu” Sateanu, previously coach of HEROIC through their incredible TI 2025 journey, joins GamerLegion. With a ton of experience behind him and a team with strong ties, this could be a great opportunity for this roster to make a breakthrough.

The squad retained their manager, Maggie “stresspresso” Hogie, as they immediately began preparations for the tournament. The GamerLegion Dota 2 squad’s first event is coming in just a few days, with PGL Wallachia Season 6. Then, in December, DreamLeague Season 27 sees the team make its final stand for 2025.
