Clan Clash has shared clarification regarding how Magic Item from Golden Ticket Line works after players were confused by the new convenience features introduced in Update March 2026.
This update brings a major overhaul to the Gold Pass system, including a Redesigned UIthe new one Daily Task system, Choice Nodes for gifts, that is Hoggy Banks replaced Seasons Bank, and even a new Village Helper was named Seeker.
Only “targetless” items such as Runes and Potions can be used directly from the track
With the updated reward track, Supercell also added a nifty feature that allows certain Magic Items to be used directly from the Golden Ticket track or even sell them instead of claiming them first. However, the change wasn’t explained clearly when the update rolled out, so many of us assumed the feature worked for all Magic Items.
Supercell has clarified how the Magic Item direct use feature in Gold Pass works. This feature only works for Magic Items that do not require a specific target. These are items that automatically apply to your entire village, so you don’t have to choose buildings, troops, or upgrades.
Examples include Runes, Boost Potion, Super Potion, and Pet Potion. These items can now be used directly from the Gold Pass line, making them quicker and more convenient to activate. However, some Magic Items still cannot be used directly from the track.
Items like Books, Hammers, Rings, and other targeted Magic Items require you to select specific buildings, troops, or upgrades. Therefore, it still has to be claimed first and then used from your inventory as before.
Another small detail that confuses players is regarding the Magic Item storage limit. If your inventory for a particular Magic Item is full, you won’t see the option to use another item directly from the Gold Pass line. To use it, you must first free up space in your inventory.
Supercell says this is intentional and is working as planned. However, the team also admitted that this feature was not explained clearly when the update was released, causing confusion among players.
