Apple Release TVOS 26 | Applevis

Apple today released TVOS 26 to the public.

Unfortunately, our team cannot test TVOS 26 during the Beta cycle, and thus we do not have information whether this release contains improvements or regression for voice, braille, or low accessibility vision. We begin this post in the hope that it will function as a place for the community to share and discuss every and all information related to TVOS 26 release.

TVOS 26 Release Notes

This update introduces amazing new designs with liquid glasses, bringing cinematic poster art to the Apple TV application, adding support for the iPhone as a microphone for Apple Music Sing, and makes it easier to choose your profile to see personalized content recommendations. This update also includes improving performance and stability.

Design

• Liquid Glass introduces more expressive experiences throughout TVO for financing and reflecting content in real time, and brings more focus on what you watch.1

Apple TV application

• Cinematic poster art features more films and performances at a glance.

Apple Music

• Apple Music Sing2 adds support for iPhone as a handheld microphone, strengthening your voice through TV speakers.
• Friends and family can use their iPhone to add songs to the queue, react with screen emojis, and control microphones. 3
• Lyrics of translation and pronunciation4 help you understand the meaning behind your favorite songs and make it easy to sing together, even if you don’t know the language.

Facetime

• POSTERS Contok1 Makes a FaceTime Call easier and more private by displaying photos and names that are adjusted on the screen.
• Direct Captions 1 now supports Canton, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mandarin, and Spain.

Call the notification

• The incoming call notification for telephone and audio facetime calls help you answer it on a connected homepod speaker, or your iPhone.

Profile

• The current profile can be displayed when Apple TV wakes up from sleep so you can quickly access your movies, performances, and music.

Screen Savers

• Landscapes of India offers amazing new screen savers.
• Aerial Screen Savers now includes the option to let you choose which stunning display is displayed.

Airplay

• Each speaker activated by Airplay can now be determined as the default output for Apple TV.

How to update

To install TVOS 26, on Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, open the settings channel, then look for a part of the system near the bottom. From here, look for software updates under maintenance, then select the software update and download and install. Wait for your Apple TV to download updates. Don’t remove or unplug your Apple TV until the update is complete.
