On occasion, blind, deaf, and low users may lose the voices of voices after updating to iOS 26; Immediately after the update installs or after rebooting the next device. If you use the voice of the sound and haven’t done it, we suggest you No Install iOS 26 or iPados 26 to Apple solve this problem.
Initially, we must emphasize that the problems discussed in this post are not something experienced by Applevis editorial team members personally, and our understanding of the nature and full scope is limited. This problem also does not occur to everyone.
Is Applevis’s general practice not to post about problems that cannot be validated by our team personally; However, due to the seriousness and impact of documented for blind, deaf, and low vision users, we feel that not to increase awareness of this problem will make extraordinary losses for our community.
Shortly after the release of iOS 26 and Ipados 26, we began to receive reports from the community from users who experienced loss of voices as soon as installing the update, or after rebooting the device at the point in the future. From what we have collected, this problem seems to appear only when on the lock screen after the device restarts, and so far it is only reported on a device protected by a password.
When a problem occurs, the affected user reports that there is no voices and that siri can also not be used. We hypothesize that the inability to use siri is bound to a locked device and requires a password when restarting first, because this is a case on a well -functioned device that we tested.
There are several manifestations reported from this problem. While some reports come from users who experience loss of speech immediately after installing the IOS 26 update, many users also report that the problem presents itself only after the device is re -found after a certain period of time; suggest that maybe the underlying problem may be with something that is not related to the renewal process. One user reports that the voices are turned off after installing the Ipados 26 update on their M1 iPad Pro M1.
After the device is not locked, the affected user reports that the voices of sound function normally. We do not know any reports about this problem that occurs more than once for certain users.
Although we believe the reach of this problem is rather limited, it remains very serious. Because only one example of the impact of this problem, a member of our community shared how their iPhone 15 could not be used after rereboot some time after installing iOS 26, with all efforts to solve problems unsuccessful.
Because this problem seems to be resolved after unlocking someone’s device, there is a possibility that deactivating a person’s password and biometric code in advance can allow users to make lock screen -shapass and reach the point where the voices work normally. The only other confirmed solution is (1) getting help that is visible to unlock the device, or (2) there is no visible help, deleting the device by finding me and/or through a computer.
Apple knows this report and is investigating. We recommend that user No Update to iOS 26 or iPados 26 until this problem is resolved. We ask Apple to uphold their old commitment to accessibility for their blind, deaf, and low vision customers by prioritizing and releasing improvements to this problem as a very urgent matter.
